Happiness Meme a la Bri?
I think the world's trying really hard to be better, with a bit of actual effort on my part. I got offered a job at the school library--even though I probably won't get it because my class is smack in the middle of when they need someone, it's a good thing to know that jobs are actually available. I didn't even have to look for it--I was working in the archaeology library and Susan told me to get down there and apply. = P
Talking to folks on AIM again, even though it totally destroys the computer because I have a suck-ass program to do it. I should fix that part at least...
I stayed up all last night playing FF8 and made it onto the second disk. I forgot just how friggin' awesome that game was. And my taking my time and paying attention this time around means that I'm figuring out more about the plot overall--such as the fact that the main tutorial tells you that there's rumors that using the summons may affect a person's memory in the long run.
Eric bought us lunch at Burrito Express, and even though he was a bit of a dick in the way that he's normally a dick, it was nice to be out of the house and watching Mun2--possibly the most entertaining channel I've ever watched that I can't understand half of. It's like Telemundo and MTV2 mixed together, even the languages. Some shows are all in English (like today) and some are all in Spanish, and there's one wonderfully confusing show where the hostess switches between both several times per sentence. Also, I have lovely cold nachos in the fridge.
Sittin' around not being exactly hungry, though, I got to putting together some junk in the kitchen that's basically missing one ingredient to make it workable. I ended up with a lovely cup of chocolate-strawberry coffee: instant coffee crystals I got to make the Mexican chocolate bark, hot cocoa mix, and strawberry syrup. Better than Starbucks and a ton cheaper.
Also downloaded DM Genie so I can organize my thoughts and actually get my campaign running correctly. Since the guys absolutely demolished, annihilated, and destroyed my intro fight, I figured I needed to up the CRs on the monsters and NPCs. I couldn't figure that out by my onesies, as much as I couldn't figure out how to effectively use a cleric in combat. = P But it was surprisingly simple to fix, and now I'm back on board. I'll post the finished module if folks want to read it. I'm hoping it's as good at Tall John thinks it sounds, 'cause it might be the first entry on a new module-resource LJ or website.
